As more of the economy moves online and demand increases for bandwidth thanks to video streaming sites like Netflix and Hulu, the stakes are getting higher for Internet service providers. Consumer groups have long been advocating for federal rules that would protect the openness of Internet and prevent broadband providers like AT&T or Charter from limiting access to certain content for their own self-interest.

My career path has been aggressive and opportunistic. I have passion for capitalism and finance, and this is America. At 17, thinking I wanted a job at Goldman Sachs, I pursued an Ivy-League degree. It was expensive and I left without graduating, accepting a position with a hedge fund. I figured I could always return to school.

Worries change depending on the life stage of a business. Currently I am CEO of a start up where to date we have chosen to not taken funding. We are surviving on the funding the founders provided. My biggest worry is generating enough critical mass in the form of revenue and profit to cover overhead.

12/17/09 - Politicians Deaf to Plight of Small Business
The WBJ editorial about the hearing on health care held in Worcester (“A Costly Miss,” Nov. 23, 2009) stated that only one business showed up. There are reasons for that. Events like this have been held before. The hearings, symposiums, or whatever are held. Numerous business owners show up and discuss the issue(s). Nothing changes.
